In this story of there of three people how want freedom to the White Mountain, freedom is what most of this novel is all about and what they wish for. The only thing that they all want is freedom and to make it to the White Mountain. If they didn’t find Beanpole then they wouldn’t make it to the White Mountain.

In the red tower Will had a great deal of freedom in the castle. But he would need to get cap if he wanted to stay at the castle and Will choose not to be controlled and get capped. In the beginning of the book he put in quotes that he would die then to be capped. This told me that me am desperate for the freedom and would never what to get capped and give his life away to the tripods. When he lives or stayed at the castle he saw a few tripods walking around the neighborhood. This would mean that have to act normal whenever he saw a tripod at the red towers or else the tripods would go after them.

They are hooping for freedom at the White Mountain or else they would of travel a long way and be disappointed.

1. How were the Tripods able to control the people?

The cap's had a chip in it that only allowed the tripods control their thought and how they think.

2. Find evidence (quotations from the novel) to show that even though Will is comfortable living at the castle, he is frustrated that the Comt, Comtesse, and Eloise have been capped.

(The bitter thing was that all the spirit, all the gallantry, was wasted. for even more than their inferiors, they accepted and looked forward to being capped. it was a part of becoming a knight, or of turning from girl to lady.) Page. 111.

All this was rendered futile by the sight of her bare head. I had come to think of her as my friends: perhaps more. But now I knew that she belonged, irretrievably, body and soul, to the Enemy. Page. 116.

3. Find evidence (quotes) to show how Will feels about being capped.

It last five days, and at the end is their Capping Day." " And if we are still here then . . .," Henry said. " We are offered for Capping. True But we will not be here. You will be strong by then, Will. And during the time of the tournament there is always much confusion. We can get away, and not be missed for day, perhaps two or three. Page .109

Beanpole) How will me help Will and Henry

Beanpole is an interesting character in the book. He is smart and he sounds really nice and honest and one of those people that you could trust on. Beanpole has very many good ideas. His parents had died and his uncle and aunt took after him. The thing that Beanpole can do that will help them is that take in many languages.

Beanpole is going to help them to the White Mountain by being the translator. Will and Henry did not know the language that the other people spoke so that is what Beanpole. Without Beanpole it would be easy for Will and Henry to get cut by the tripods and sent back to their Village. Beanpole would help them throw their whole journey. Beanpole as helped them throw the sea. Beanpole will help the most because he knows the land the best.

How I'm like Will Parker

Will Parker is smart, curious and he thinks ahead of the future. When Will Parker tried to run way without being capped I would do that if I were in his passion. I would heat it if I was capped and the tripods toke over my life.

I’m like Will how he is curious because when I don’t know something. Like when he did know how the tripods get the caps from. I am usually curious about stuff like Will was about it.
